Who wouldn’t want to spend cash in eating such delish foods without burning a hole in your wallet?  Everyone does.

Kwek-kwek/tokneneng, fish balls, tempura, siomai, barbecue and etc., these are the usual foods that you can see along the streets. But in Cebu, there are some food stalls that sell “SAANG” also known as “Conch”.

Vendors cook saang by boiling it with water. They use hammer to whack the shell, gets its meat, slices it and skewers it in to a stick.

Some may think that it tastes nasty by simply seeing the looks of it but when you experience to eat this kind of delicacy, you’ll be able to taste the sweetness at the same time feel the tenderness and its juiciness.

Especially when you dip the stick in a glass container of the vinegar filled with lots of spices (onions, garlic &lots of chili)

Diners crowd around in a small table, enjoying every moment with friends. Imagine that you can eat this kind of food with just affordable price, P5 per stick.

Several concerns about its sanitation, “Is it clean?” “I don’t like to eat it there, it’s dirty!”

Saang lovers just don’t mind about it as long as they’re satisfied. Providing that this food also fill the hungry intestines of our dear Filipinos.

Despite from the fear of some, people keep coming to this saang stall. It might be its cheap price, the flavour, or as for the reason that one can just plainly come and get pleasure from the foodstuff in the company of acquaintances and strangers.

It is unquestionable that it brings Cebuanos together in all walks of life.
